Art Blog

My paintings are mostly humorous, sometimes political, and never without a requisite darkness. There has to be a balance between the melancholy and the beautiful, as a way to respond to the somewhat dark, albeit profoundly interesting, times we live in. Notable artists who have influenced me are Dawn Mellor, Philip Guston, Allison Schulnik, and David Humphrey.
I graduated from the Studio Arts program at Concordia University, Montreal, in 2007. In 2011, I completed an artist-in-residency program at The School of Visual Arts in New York. I am now pursuing a degree in literature and cultural studies at McGill. Otherwise, I’m obsessed with music, am working on a book of poems, and tend to gravitate towards weird and special things.
